Dr. Beth Dessner
Dr. Dessner, board certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT), brings 30 years of physical therapy clinical experience to Empowered Pelvis. After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Dessner practiced in St. Louis before returning to her home state of Iowa to open a physical therapy practice. She was the owner of successful orthopedic practice in Iowa for 15 years. A passionate and dedicated clinician, Dr. Dessner believes that if you’re not learning, you’re not growing. For this reason, she seeks opportunities to learn from and educate other physical therapists. She is currently an adjunct professor at Baylor University and assistant faculty with Evidence in Motion where she teaches in a variety of residency and fellowship courses. Dr. Dessner is a skilled orthopedic manual physical therapist that is passionate about treating pelvic health issues in men and women with a particular interest in pelvic pain, menopause rehabilitation, and male and female sexual health. She is the mother of Alex, 28 and Grace, 22 and has been married to her husband, David for 25 years. In her free time she enjoys road and mountain biking, running, yoga, and competing in triathlons.
